Joy Withers

I am a Sussex-based artist who studied art at Northbrook College, Worthing.  I enjoy experimenting with a broad range of styles and media.  My work is so varied that it is often thought to be that of many different artists.

My visualised scenes are often discovered while I am out in the countryside, sailing on the water or on holiday.  Using both photos and my imagination I then recreate a composition of the places I have visited.

I portray my energy and enthusiasm for life through colour, pattern and a degree of abstraction.  Texture and collage are frequently combined with acrylic or oil paints making you want to look again at how the painting was created and even wanting to touch it.
